DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor tweeted twice about an Australian Batsman Usman Khuwaja after he made a century in one match and 91 in another match against India. For all those who missed out on all the political colours of cricket this piece willΒ  walk you right through. So who is Usman Khuwaja and why did the DG tweet about him.

It all started as India was ready to faceΒ  Australia on 8thΒ  March at Ranchi, India. Though sports shoudn’t be politicized, the Indian sideΒ  decided to wear its Air force cap as a sign of solidarity in connection to the Abhi Nandan crash case in Pakistan. During the toss the Indian captain announced that they would also donate the match money to the Indian Air force while MS Dhoni distributed the air force caps to the Indian cricket team.

Ironically, a Pakistani born Australian batsman thrashed Indian bowlers all over the stadium scoring a century and pushing Australia to victory.
After this match people on the internet came out trolling India. People from across the borders criticized India for their move. This is when the DG ISPR tweeted β€œwell played Usman Khuwaja”.

People started making memes saying that Usman KhuwajaΒ  is an ISI agent just like Adnan Sami. People also said that he has completed his degree in aviation and scored a century against India in a political match that was dedicated to the Indian Airforce

In the very next match at Mohali, the Indian team wore original uniform caps (blue) and scored 358 runs against Australia.
In response the Australians came out with a befitting reply and chased down the huge target. InΒ  this match Usman Khuwaja again scored 91 from 99 balls paddling his team to victory.
On this the DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor tweeted β€œWell played again Usman Khawaja.” This was retweeted thousands of times and many people came out to comment on it.
