The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had launched a twitter handle – “@FakeNews_Buster” to expose the fake news surfacing on media.

The purpose of this account titled FakeNewsBusterMoIB is to notify fake news in electronic, print and on digital media. Government and more specifically ministry of Information and Broadcasting had no platform to report such cases which is why they turned to Twitter. The account has been active and notifying fake news in the media since October last year. This also gives media critics a rare comparison of where and when the news media was


broadcasting and publishing fake news.
