Man Killed for Honor, girl, father Booked

Another person has been shot down in the name of “honor”, but this time the victim is a man and was not an ordinary citizen.

The victim Asif Ali, 25, was a serving police officer in special branch called Special Protection Unit (SPU). He was from Mandi Bahauddin.

According to Police, they received a call on helpline ‘15’ from Batapur police area which reported a robbery. A police team, including SP Cantonment Shahbaz Elahi reached the place along with his team but there was no one in the house. The police searched the house and found a dead body under the bed. The police sent the body for autopsy which was later identified as Asif Ali- a young police officer.

The police told that the victim had an affair with the girl of this area. He tried to seek permission for marriage but was rejected every time.

On 10th of March the family called him home and girl’s father named Aslam allegedly shot him dead and fled away along with his family. Aslam is driver by profession.

An FIR was registered against the girl, her father and two other family members. The FIR was submitted by Saif Ullah (brother in law and son of victim’s maternal aunt).

The police said that they were conducting raids to arrest the suspects but no one was arrested till yet.

The victim was reportedly shot in the eye in Batapur town of Lahore.
The main purpose of the unit in which the deceased policeman was in is to ensure safety of foreigners.
