KARACHI: Azad Chaiwala, a Pakistani origin British entrepreneur, established a one of its kind platform, secondwife.com, that will help men looking to marry twice, thrice, or even for the fourth time.
Chaiwala, the Sunderland-based entrepreneur, openly justifies the idea of polygamy while residing in Britain. Men somehow got what they want as the body provides ambiguous clues to the answer.
Men substitute their desires with extramarital affairs, prostitution, and many other ways. Idea is to build bigger and better families. The platform also offered services to women who are seeking a husband and connect them with men.
The website of the 37-year-old was launched in 2017. The memo on the site cited ‘We are the first, the largest and only service of this kind. We have over 400,000 members. Pornography, easy hookups, extramarital affairs, prostitution is now ever so common and accessible for non-Muslim men and women’.
‘Polygamy is a much safer and honorable option for both Muslim men and women’, it further added.
At one time, Azad also shared the motive with an anecdote. The whole idea came about from my need and thinking there’ll be other people in my situation. I was only 12 years old when I started thinking this way. I told everyone I was a polygamous person even though I mentioned this thing with my wife prior to marrying her that she wouldn’t be his only wife.
There was a taboo about the subject. No family member wanted to help me find a second wife, he added.
However, the idea of polygamy which Azad justified with Islamic ideologies faced backlash as people with the liberal school of thought often opposed the idea and termed it orthodox in modern times.
