TDCP and Sweet Tooth join hands to install Igloo glamping pods in tourist sites across Punjab

LAHORE: In a bid to boost sightseeing tourism in the most populous province, the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) and renowned food chain Sweet Tooth join hands to set up glamping pods at tourist sites.

The glamping pods will be installed at picturesque points to provide facilities to the travelers in Punjab province.

The venture ceremony held in TDCP Head office, in the country’s cultural capital where MD TDCP Muhammad Tanveer Jabbar and General Manager Asim Raza briefed press reporters on the significance and the motive behind launching the initiative.

The famous food chain launched the ‘IGLOO glamping pods’ under their initiative Orange Loft – a pioneering hospitality brand that facilitates tourists to spend quality vacations in the scenic landmarks of Pakistan.

It is worth noting that the Punjab government allocated at least Rs 1.2 Billion for tourism in the provincial budget 2021-22.

Punjab Finance Minister while speaking at budget speech revealed that the incumbent government had evolved a comprehensive policy for the promotion of the tourism sector in the province.

The schemes for the tourism sector included the installation of glamping pods at Patriata, Kotli Sattian, the establishment of arts and craft shops, zip lining, wall climbing, walkways at Patriata, mechanical up-gradation of the cable car and chairlift Patriata, the establishment of the parkway at Narar Kahuta and others.

Before the Punjab province, Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa formed more than 40 camping pods at four new travel destinations of the province to facilitate tourists in Mahaban and Shaheed-e- Sar of Buner district, Bamburate valley of Kalasha, and Allai spot of Battagram.
