SWAT: Teenagers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recreated the popular Turkish historical TV drama Dirilis Ertugrul into a film titled ‘Pakistani Ertugrul’ with their limited resources.
Amid the polarized popularity of TV series in Pakistan, teenagers compiled the whole series in a film to express love and appreciation for the serial.
The group, located in a charming valley in northern Pakistan, planned to release the film after Eid-ul-Fitr with the title, ‘Pakistani Ertugrul’, on different video streaming platforms including YouTube.

The group shot the film in Odigram village of Swat Valley while they dropped some of the shots of the film on their official YouTube channel.
Besides the production of a movie that glorifies’ Muslim values, these youngsters also run an artifact business that sells various items like axes, swords, jackets, and borks, which they produced after watching the serial.
The group managed to earn good profits from the business as they have been receiving orders from other countries including India and Afghanistan. They put the garnered profits in the production and filming of the Pakistani version of Ertugrul.
The protagonist role of Ertugrul Gazi was played by Muhammad Abbas, who is a high-school student. Narrating their work, he said that the costumes were prepared after watching pictures and videos on the internet.
The group also urged the series fandom to fund them as they do not have enough sources for future projects. If we can find a sponsor, it would be very good for us,” Abbas added.
