ISLAMABAD: Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar, who received the Pride of Performance award on Pakistan Day, has triggered Pakistan’s women rights activists as the event received immense backlash amid the ongoing harassment suit against the Pakistani ‘rockstar.’

President Dr. Arif Alvi who conferred excellence award has also drawn ire amid the feminist groups as the daughter of Pakistan’s Minister of Human Rights, Imaan Mazari, lambasts Alvi while posting ‘Shame on You’ on microblogging site Twitter.

Taking the matter to the social networking site, Imaan also highlighted an episode in which a group of Pakistani social activists including her met the President and expressed their concerns about the harassment charges against the Kill Dil actor.

‘Shame on you! You should not have committed something you didn’t have the integrity to do, you lied and your lie is hurting those who have been through enough trauma already’, she captioned the recent fuming post.

Here are some of the reactions of angry Twitteratis who called out Alvi and top leaders after the event.

On the other hand, the 40-year-old also took to Twitter after receiving the pride of performance award. Zafar penned down an adorable letter along with a photo carrying a big smile on his face.
