SHO Wasim Sajjad Khan, who is the complainant in the case, stated that the clip of the speech is doing rounds on social media in which Haqqani could be seen standing armed on the stage. The complainant added that the cleric said ‘I will be the first to attempt a suicide attack on the 23-year-old when she comes to Pakistan’.
Report of a news channel citing a local law enforcer said the cleric was present in the Pizo area when he was detained and booked for inciting hatred.
According to some news outlets, the detained cleric has earlier apprehended in Nowshera for delivering a hate speech and making derogatory remarks about the women doctors and nurses.
It all started when the Pakistani activist for female education irked many social media users with her controversial remarks about marriage during an interview with a British fashion magazine Vogue.
‘PARTNERSHIP NOT MARRIAGE’ – MALALA OPENS UP ABOUT LOVE AND FAMILY IN VOGUE INTERVIEW
The youngest laureate, who isn’t sure about getting married, said that ‘I still don’t understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?’
Following the outcry on the microblogging site and all the coverage in mainstream media, Malala’s father dismissed the comment of his daughter about marriage. The comment has been taken out of context, twisted, and circulated on social media with sinister interpretations, Ziauddin Yousafzai clarified.
PAKISTANI NOBLE LAUREATE MALALA MAKES IT TO VOGUE’S JULY COVER
Earlier in October 2012, attackers wounded Malala who has campaigned for girls’ education in the Swat Valley. Malala, who was just 14 at the time of the attack, was coming back to his residence from school in Mingora – the region’s main town.
Ehsanullah Ehsan, Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan spokesperson, while speaking with the media said that they attacked young Malala because she was anti-Taliban and involved in promoting secularism, adding that she would not be spared.
