Mia Khalifa ends 2 years of marriage with Robert Sandberg! Here’s why

LONDON: Former Lebanese adult entertainer and social media sensation Mia Khalifa has announced divorce from husband Robert Sandberg, after two years of marriage.

The OnlyFan star got engaged to the Swedish chef Robert Sandberg back in March 2019, before they legally tied the knot in June 2019.

The 28-year-old took to her verified Instagram where she announced that she has called off her impending reception and said that for almost a year the couple had been trying to make their married life work but failed in wake of the fundamental differences.

“We can confidently say that we gave everything to make our marriage work, but after almost a year of therapy and efforts we walked away knowing that we have a friend in the other and that we really tried,” she wrote beside posting a silhouette monochrome picture with Robert.

Mia mentioned that they went through almost a year of therapy together but couldn’t make the marriage work.

The brief note further reads that “We will always love and respect each other because we know that not one isolated incident caused our split, but rather, a culmination of unresolvable, fundamental differences that no one can blame the other for. We are closing this chapter with no regrets and both starting our own, separately, but connected through incredible family, friends, and our love for our dogs”.

She concluded by saying “This has been long overdue, but we are glad we took our time and gave it our all, and can walk away saying we tried our absolute hardest.”

Let it be known that the former high-rated porn star previously married her high school beau back in 2011, and later separated in 2014.

Later, she entered the porn industry, and become a hit in a short time owing to her Caucasian appearance and she also starred in a number of adult movies with traditional attires.

However, the former celebrated porn star termed that period as ‘the worst part of her life.’ Speaking in a podcast earlier this year, she mentioned “I started disassociating and just compartmentalizing and pretending like things never happened to the point where I didn’t talk about porn for the first like three years after, I just went quiet and never spoke about it.”

“Every time I did an interview that was the one thing they were not allowed to ask me about, I refused to acknowledge that I did it and it wasn’t until therapy that I realized how detrimental that is.”

Last year, during her appearance in BBC Hard Talk, she confessed that “the porn videos that she made when she was 21 will ‘haunt her’ for the rest of her life as she urged other women to think twice before going into the industry.”

Although it has been over three years since she quit the porn industry, I think post-traumatic stress kicks in mostly when I go on public. Because of the stares I get, I feel like people can see through my clothes. And it brings me deep shame. It makes me feel like I lost all rights to my privacy, which I did because I am just one Google search away”, she said in the show.
