Israelis dance in celebration as fire burns in Al-Aqsa Mosque compound

JERUSALEM – Hundreds of Israeli settlers gathered around the third holiest site of Islam and cheered as the huge ablaze erupted in the compound of the Al Aqsa mosque amid the forced eviction of Palestinians.

Multiple clips of the Israeli barbarism at Jerusalem’s flashpoint posted on social media in which Israeli settlers can be seen dancing on songs outside Al Aqsa mosque on Monday night.

The recent brutal attacks on Palestinian worshipers started over the heightened tensions amid the forced eviction of Palestinians from land claimed by Jewish families.

Amid the atrocious operations, Israeli forces stormed the Al-Aqsa mosque compound on Friday night, firing tear gas, thrown grenades along with steel bullets at Palestinian worshippers.

The heart of the old city turned into a violent flashpoint on Friday night after thousands of Palestinians gathered to observe the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan while Israeli authoritarian law enforcement agencies justified the violence saying they used force in a bid to dispel worshipers.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, at least 26 Palestinians have been killed while more than 800 suffered injuries amid the recent violence at the holy city. Reports in international media suggest that more than 50 of the injured persons were hospitalized after suffering serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the response of Unites States in this regard is notably muted. During a recent press briefing, US State Department Spokesperson, Ned Price, can be seen noticeably uncomfortable when he was asked to condemn the massacre of Palestinian children.

US spokesperson also refused to comment on the casualties of Palestinian children who died with Israeli airstrikes. He even justified that self-defense often includes the use of power.

The brutal attacks on Palestinians have stirred a huge outcry around the globe as Muslim leaders have joined hands to protect the sanctity of the Al Aqsa mosque and to save the much oppressed Palestinians.

Pakistani PM Imran Khan condemned the Israeli barbarism in the strongest term and called the recent attacks a violation of all norms of humanity and international law.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan denounced the Israeli brutality and called it a terror state. He called on the Muslim world to take steps against the Jewish country, clarifying that those who remain silent are also among the cruel. Iran also slammed the Jewish state and called it ‘not a country, but a terrorist base’.

Jordan also urged Israel to stop attacks on worshippers in Jerusalem and said it would step up international pressure. Israel should respect worshippers and international law safeguarding Arab rights.
