Karachi woman ends life after being harassed by group of men

KARACHI – In a gruesome incident in Shadman Town of Sindh capital, a 41-year-old woman ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan after being repeatedly blackmailed and harassed by a group of men on Wednesday.

The law enforcers confirmed today after voice messages of the victim recorded hours before committing suicide were discovered. The deceased sent three audio notes to her friend, in which she can be heard sobbing while narrating the horrific story. ‘I am being called and threatened to forcefully meet. They are harassing me. My number has been shared with other men and I can’t stand it’, the late woman can be heard saying in the released audio notes.

Station House Officer, Liaquat Mehsud, confirmed that the family registered an official complaint and nominated six men under Section 322 and 34 of the PPC. The police identified five of the suspects as Amir, Waqas, Asad Farhan, Shehzad, and Shahid. One suspect has been taken into custody, while four of the other men are still at large.

The brother of the victim claimed that his sister ended her life because she was repeatedly blackmailed and harassed.
