Karachi court slaps fine on online clothing store – Libas Mahal for delivering torn clothes

KARACHI: A consumer court in Sindh capital on Thursday slapped a fine of Rs 30,000 on Libas Mahal, an online clothing store, for delivering worn-out clothes to a buyer.

The customer who ordered the clothes moved to court against the store praying that she was unable to attend the key function because the company had sent her worn-out clothes.

Judge Javed Ali Korejo of the consumer court then directed the management of Libas Mahal to compensate the plaintiff with Rs 30,000 and also ordered them to provide new clothes.

The court also intimidated the clothing brand for further action if they failed to provide new clothes and compensation amount. This act is an online fraud that cannot be given an exemption, the judge further remarked.
