Hindu Priest Booked Under Blasphemy Law In India (VIDEO)

NEW DELHI: Police in the Indian capital have booked the head priest of the Hindu temple for committing blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad SAW and hurting the religious sentiments of the Muslim community.

The complainant, Amanatullah Khan, Aam Aadmi Party’s MLA Saturday lodged a complaint against Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, at Jamia Nagar police station. The Indian lawmaker mentioned that a clip of a Hindu priest has surfaced online in which he can be heard saying blasphemous words against the Prophet Muhammad and Islam.

The FIR has been lodged under 153-A/ 295-A of the Indian Penal Code for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, residence, language, and to create outrage among religious followers, local media cited Monday.

Earlier, the All India Majilis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi lambasted Saraswati for his derogatory comments about the Prophet SAW.

“Insulting Prophet (SAW) [peace and blessing be upon him] is unacceptable. Can these criminals acting as religious teachers get over their unnatural fixation with Islam? For something that you do not like, you do spend a lot of time on it. I’m sure there’s enough in your own belief system that you can discuss,” said a tweet of AIMIM chief.
